Trauma

Some of my loyal fans have been asking about the dent across the middle of my forehead. Here is the story:

It happened about 7pm, June 25. Dad was in lowering my crib because the parents were afraid I would stand up and topple out. Mom was finishing dinner in the kitchen. I was practicing my walking skills by walking around and around and around the kitchen table. All of a sudden the chair I was holding on to started coming down on me! I let go, but by then it was too late. I fell backwards and hit my head on the tile floor. Then the chair landed on top of me!!! Mom rushed over to find me screaming and peering up at her through the slats in the chair.

The rest is a blur. We rushed to Quick Care, hung out in the waiting room where I charmed workers and fellows patients alike, and ended with a head x-ray. Dad is still recovering from the x-ray room. The nurses finally gave me a yummy blue sucker to help calm me down after I had to be held down on the x-ray table. Everything turned out alright and Dad was able to return to Scout Camp that night. I do have a nasty little dent that the doctor said would go away. But...here we are a month later and I still have it!

Do you like my blue mouth? My forehead is shiny and doesn't show off my injury, but I love the silly face I am making.
The next day: The red spots on the sides of my head went away by the next day. The dent? Still there.

It's My Party, I'll Do What I Want To!!!

Warning! This is the longest post I've ever done. If you get tired of reading, you can just read just read the red words. They'll give you the jist of things!

Yesterday was the big day. Mom and dad had been discussing and planning my party for a month. We had been running errands and putting things together the whole last week. I had no idea what was in store!!!! We had a creepy, crawly/little critters theme.

We opened the party with pizza. I ate a piece and a half all by myself!
Then we played Duck, Duck, Goose. I got to be the Goose the first round and decided that I liked running around the circle. So while everyone else played the game, I made Gramie run me around and around the circle watching everyone!!!

After that game, we played Fling the Snake and Frog Pond. I was very good at putting the snake in the bucket! The Frog Pond was fun, but I kept trying to climb in the water to splash...
Following the games, we broke out the pinata. It was in the shape of a little turtle! Dad and I had stuffed it full of plastic/rubber snakes, frogs, bugs, and lizards the night before. Plus we added all the yummy candy that Mars makes. All of my friends took turns hitting it with my little baseball bat. I needed some help from Dad.
When all of my friends had taken several turns, we let the big guys in on the fun. They had to use their shoes to hit it! Finally the head broke off and the goodies went everywhere!
Cake was next on the agenda. Mom had made this really cool snake cake!!!
And then she made me my own giant cupcake with snakes crawling all over the top!
I wasn't really into the cake. I liked touching the frosting a couple of times and then I took a few bites. I didn't make the mess that Mom and Dad had hoped that I would...
Finally we opened presents. I got so many cool and fun new toys!

After the party, we all cleaned up and then I went swimming at Gramie and Grandpa's house while Mom and Dad went to a funeral. Then we went out to Cafe Rio for my birthday dinner.

How did I end this fun-filled day of excitement and sugar? I threw up in Mom's lap just before bedtime. I'll spare you the pictures.
