We have done a lot of the "touristy" things in Chicago, but it was always too cold, too wet, or too hot to visit Navy Pier. So one Saturday we were very unbusy and the weather was beautiful so we loaded up and headed downtown.
We parked the car ($24!) and bought our ride tickets. First up was the Ferris Wheel. This is a replica of the first ferris wheel ever that premiered at the World Fair here in Chicago in 1893. You can thank me later for the history lesson!
Then Mom and I rode the "lighthouse" ride that swooshes up and down. I'm still neutral about that ride...
Tourist trap? Yes. Ridiculous prices? Yes. Fun Family Time? Absolutely!

After riding a few rides, we headed inside to cool off. We used our museum pass to get into the children's museum there. We learned all about fire safety!

We practiced crawling under the cloud of smoke. Blake stopped halfway and giggled until Dad went back to get him. We're hoping we don't have to crawl out of a fire any time soon!
And I put the orange safety cone on my head. I may have to go back and learn a little more about "safety."

I talked Dad into going on the ropes with me. Easy for me...
A little awkward for Dad
But we made it out!
After the museum, we headed back outdoors to soak up the atmosphere. I had become very obsessed with mini golfing earlier in the day when I saw the course. Mom and Dad hoped to distract me since they have seen my excellent "Gator Golf" skills, but to no avail. So we tried it. It was my very first attempt. It should probably be it's own blog post...
