The Beach

Day 2 brought my FIRST time seeing the ocean.

We bought a little kit so that we could dig and build sandcastles.

Gramps even got in on the action!
I didn't love the sand, but I did love destroying the sand castles that Dad, Uncle Justin, and Gramps made. Why should I touch the sand when I have so many other people to do it for me?
I loved the cold water splashing against my feet. Mom would take me to safety and I would run right back in.

Huntington Beach is the official surf city. I thought it was a cool statue of The Duke.

What do you do after an exciting morning at the beach? Collapse on the couch for 2 1/2 hours!

The Great Pumpkin

On our first day in California, we went to a fall festival. There were so many things to do!

We got to play "dress up." Don't I look cute as the welcome committee?
I picked out a pumpkin... The parents told me that one was too big, so I went for a smaller one!
Dad took me through a hay maze. Mom would jump out at every corner and scare. I laughed really hard every time she appeared. Can you tell I'm trying to peek around the corner to see if someone's there?!
We finally made it through the maze. Dad set up his beloved tripod and took this family picture.
Then we went through the haunted house.
I wasn't quite sure whether I liked it or not...
And we ended the day with a train ride!
They did eventually let me touch the train...after they took a picture first!
When we left the pumpkin patch, we drove to Uncle Justin and Aunt Hanne's place and we met up with Grammie and Gramps for dinner. Happy Birthday Dad!

Where did I go?

Whew! Sorry it's been so long! I got to take another vacation! Daddy turned the big 3-0 this past weekend so we took a quick trip down to California to help him celebrate! Be prepared for lots and lots of photos of our fun adventure.
